A few months shy to one decade of being a director, Martinez has directed entertaining spots for LOWE, INC, PUBLICIS JIMENEZ BASIC, BBDO, MEDIACOM, HARRISON COMMUNICATIONS, IDEASXMACHINA among others. His work for the Philippine Cerebral Palsy is one of Creative Guild’s Diwa Ad of the Year. Before becoming a Director, Chris is merited to be one of the youngest Creative Directors in the industry during his time. As CD for Basic Advertising for 10 years, he has won awards for the agency for TV, print and radio. His talent also extends to writing for movies and theatre. He has also directed some stage plays. He is a 3-time Palanca-winner. Aside from theater, he has also won rave reviews for his screenplays for Bridal Shower, Sukob, Caregiver, and Kimmy Dora. His fist full-length film entitled “100”, which he wrote and directed, is the most-awarded film in the Cinemalaya Film Festival in 2008. With the success of “100” here and abroad, Chris crossed to mainstream filmmaking as Director/Writer with the 2010’s box-office hit of “Here Comes The Bride”, the remake of Temptation Island, “Gunaw” episode of Who’s That Girl and the “Rain, Rain Go Away” episode of last year’s Shake, Rattle and Roll. With the exception of Rain Rain Go Away, Chris is responsible for the screenplay of all his mainstream movies. In 2011 Cinemalaya, he has once again proven his success as a Writer where he won Best Screenplay for the critically acclaimed “Ang Babae Sa Septic Tank”. He has also won in Gawad Tanglaw, Star Awards for Movies and Golden Screen Awards. Septic Tank has been gracing numerous film festivals abroad. He also wrote and directed two short films that were part of Nestlé’s Kasambahay Habambuhay Film Anthology namely “Cooking Mo, Cooking Ko” which bagged a Silver Araw for Best Direction, a Bronze award for Best Editing and another Bronze Araw for Best Casting and “The Howl and the Fussyket” which won Gold in Best in Casting. Right now, Chris is busy juggling the best of 2 worlds, advertising and entertainment. His latest movie I DO BIDOO BIDOO released by Unitel Entertainment is a comedy musical which has earned rave reviews from film critics and bloggers and was certified Rated A by the Cinema Evaluation board.
